I'm fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

I’m raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK in memory of my cousin Rob Roots, who sadly passed away last year. He was only 37 when we lost him after a short illness and within just three weeks of diagnosis. He left behind two young boys under the age of 4 and an amazing wife.

He was the leader of us kids and quite often the adults too! He was an incredibly talented person who could turn his hand to anything, from mixing a cocktail to composing a melody, he was a man who couldn’t stop making a beat. A person who always made you feel high, like his favorite genre of music, Reggae. He established a band in his hometown of Brighton, Dubious Roots, with whom he toured all around the country.

I use to run with him and his wife, a passion I’ve recently picked up again to help me with my mental health and to process the loss. I’ve signed up to the Worthing 10k to challenge myself and raise some money for Pancreatic Cancer UK in Rob’s memory. I’ll be recording all my training activities and have set a target to run 100 miles to prepare for the race in June. I want to do my bit so other families don’t have to go through this pain. Any money to this great cause would mean the world to me and my family. And to all the other families in the UK affected by this horrific disease.
