I’m fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK

November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month and I’m fundraising to help drive research breakthroughs that could save lives.

Pancreatic cancer has been left behind. Survival rates have improved enormously for most cancers.

Sadly, for pancreatic cancer, this is not the case. Currently, more than half of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die within 3 months. This is unacceptable.

The funds I raise could support research into early detection and better treatments, and provide health professionals with the tools they need to spot patients’ symptoms earlier.

Walk 3 - Gwbert

Wac/Walk 3. Today's walk from my old grammar school in Cardigan to the Cliff in Gwbert and back. (12,987 steps, distance 8.48km.) Nol I bro fy mebyd.

Wac/walk 4. Llandudoch

Wac/walk 4. (Walking for Pancreatic Cancer research) into the countryside. (9,684 steps. 6.17km)

Walk 5- Cwmdonkin Park

Wac/Walk 5. On the trail of Dylan. Walking from the statue on the Marina up through the Kingsway to the Uplands and into Cwmdonkin Park. Managed to walk 10.4 km, walking 16,431 steps and achieving 38 heart points.

Walk 6. Marina to Oystermouth Castle

Wac/Walk 6. Cerdded o'r Marina I Castell Ystumllwynarth (Oystermouth Castle) a nol. The walk was 13.4 km long, 8.15 miles having used up 19,398 steps and achieving 113 heart points.

Wac/Walk 7. Amgueddfa Abertawe ac Oriel Glynn Vivian.

Wac/Walk 7. Wac fach heddiw oherwydd y tywydd gwael. Wac I ymweld a Amgueddfa Abertawe ac Oriel Glynn Vivian. A shorter walk today owing to unfavourable weather conditions. 5.36 km (3.35miles), 8,730 steps and achieving 19 heart points.

Walk 10. Vetch to the Liberty.

Walk 9- Digital Arena

WAC/ walk 9. A short walk this morning owing to the weather conditions. Town back to the Marina via the new digital arena.

Walk 11- Singleton Hospital

Wac/ Walk 11. Cerdded I ysbyty Singleton o'r Marina.

Walk 12- Along the beach

Wac/Walk. 12. Same walk as yesterday (but along the beach) to return the blood pressure monitor to Singleton Hospital. (Total mileage walked so far 59.4 miles)

Walk 14. Crwydro tref Aberteifi

Wac / Walk 14. Crwydro tref Aberteifi. / Exploring Cardigan. Today's walk 5.52km (3.45 miles) 9,087 steps.

Walk 8- Singleton Park

Wac/ Walk 8. Walking from Sketty to the Marina through Singleton Pk. Looking at the history of the park.

Walk 13- Castell Newydd Emlyn

Walk 13- Castell Newydd Emlyn- A welcome cup of coffee and a bite to eat. Walked 8,130 steps. 4.56km which is 2.85 miles approx. Total mileage achieved so far in October is approximately 62.25 miles.

I'm hoping to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer Research in memory of my wife Jean who passed away in November 2012. I intend walking a 100 miles between now and the end of November and will post photographs taken on each walk. Any donations for the charity will be welcomed.
