The James Newbury Challenge 2022

We are now in our third year of the James Newbury Challenge (JNC), after James’ passed away in November 2020. Gone but never forgotten, the JNC is a great way to remember and celebrate James, his sense of adventure and his love of taking on a challenge!

To JOIN THE JNC 22, it’s easy…

1. Pick your challenge! It can be anything, PCUK have their Challenge 24 during November, which is pancreatic cancer awareness month. It’s “24” because this is the number of people who die from pancreatic cancer everyday in the UK. 
Your challenge can have a “24” element to it, e.g. 24 days to complete, 24 miles, 24 activities etc but it’s up not a necessity. Ideally your challenge should be completed in November, but again it’s not restricted to this.

2. Donate your JNC entry fee of a minimum £24 on this JNC page.

3. Send your challenge details to Rachel, she will then add your challenge details to the page. Send your challenge details to: rachelmcbrown@hotmail.com or 07701340014.

4. Promote your challenge and this fundraising page.

5. Complete your challenge! Good luck!

James Newbury Challengers so far…

Sharon Newbury
Sharon is taking on the distances of an Ironman triathlon in 24 days. That’s an impressive 2.4 miles of swimming, 118 miles of cycling and 26.2 miles of walking.

Rachel Faull-Brown
Rachel is running 24 miles across 24 hours. A mile on the hour, every hour for 24 hours!

Andrea Faull-Brown
Andrea is completing 24 x miles (5k) runs throughout November. That’s an awesome 72 miles (120k) in a month!

Heather Tewkesbury
Heather will be completing an impressive 24 cold water swims in November, each 240 metres with no wetsuit!🥶

The Cardiff Pub-a-thon
Abi, Ross and Rich will be aiming to do 24 pubs in 12 hours on Sunday 6th November. A half in each pub with a Prosecco chaser to finish! Here’s hoping they can channel their inner Jameo and avoid the hangover on the Monday!! 🤪

Steve Jones
Steve’s challenge this year is based on a workout him and James used do - 500 press ups, 500 body weight squats & 500 shoulder press with a 15kg bar! He’ll be doing 240 press ups, 240 squats and 240 shoulder press each day for 24 days at the gym!! 💪🏻💪🏻

Corinne Jones
Corinne’s impressive challenge is a 10K cycle along with 24 press ups and 24 sit ups every day for 24 consecutive days! 👊🏼💪🏻

Gillian Waidson
Gillian is completing an impressive 5K cycle or walk for 24 days in November.

Sue Johnson
Sue will be racking you the miles, running 24k & swimming 2.4 miles during November.
