Jan's story
Jan has organised the Purple Ball of Hope for the last 5 years and has raised over £25,000!
“I promised my mum that I would do something to bring about change for pancreatic cancer. The Purple Ball of Hope was created because she loved watching people dress up and enjoy themselves. All funds raised on the night went to Pancreatic Cancer UK and we held a raffle, live auction, sold cards for our memory tree and asked for donations.”
Liz's story
Aretha Franklin’s death triggered painful memories of my own mother’s death. My mum had been ill for a long time but was misdiagnosed. She died only a day after her formal diagnosis.
It felt right to fundraise and raise awareness so I organised a musical tribute night for the Queen of Soul. Over 100 people were involved with the organisation as well as a 50 strong Gospel choir performance. It was a sold event which I am thrilled to say raised £8,187!
